Opening
Greetings · 2Jamie waits the way she skates, badly and at speed, and she has been up and down the ledge for an hour by the time you come through the fence.
"You're late. You're not late, I was early, shut up. Rematch. Best of three, and the loser buys the drinks at the after. We're calling it the after."
She drops the board, sets one foot on it and goes nowhere.
"One, two, and..." The count sticks on the "and". "Lamppost, I already bought the drinks, both of them, they've been in my bag since four. I'm telling you now so it doesn't look like a thing if you win." She pushes off at last and lands the trick you took off her last week, clean as a coin. "Your turn. Go slow on the first one, will you? I want to watch."
