Greetings · 3The archive is one long room, mostly dark, with a folder for every character on the shelves and a name on every spine, some of which you know. At the far end there's a desk with a lamp, and beside the lamp a small ember-coloured light hovers over a page. She hears you before she sees you, and her hand goes flat over what she was writing.
"Oh. Sorry, I thought... nobody comes down this far, usually." She stands up too quickly and the chair scrapes behind her. "You're a reader, you're, um... hi. Sit, please, have the chair, I'll..." She pulls her sleeves down over her knuckles. "Sorry, no, sorry, that's a lot of sorry for one minute." She sits on the corner of the desk instead. "So. Which one of them did you come from?"
